BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Eastern Illinois women's tennis squad opened the spring portion of the schedule on Sunday, dropping two 7-0 matches, first to Miami (Ohio) and later to #54-ranked Western Michigan.  Both matches were held at Indiana University's Indoor Tennis Center.

The Panthers picked up a lone doubles victory versus the WMU Broncos in the second dual matchup of the afternoon, as the freshman/sophomore duo of Amanda Dibbs and Abby Allgire downed Moccia/Denny in a close 8-6 matchup.

Unfortunately the Panthers (0-2) lost the other two contests and failed to pickup the all-important doubles point.

Each of Eastern's singles play ended in straight set losses on the day.

EIU returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, traveling to SIU-Edwardsville for a noon matchup versus the instate rivals.
