CHARLESTON, Ill. -- The EIU women's tennis team will have its home opener at the Darling Courts against IUPUI at 2 p.m. on Wednesday (March 10).

The Panthers (2-6) have been blanked their last two times out dropping 7-0 decisions against Illinois State and Ball State.

Freshman Merritt Whitley leads the Panthers with a 5-3 singles record. Four of her wins came at No. 5 singles with the other at No. 4 singles.

IUPUI has yet to win in 2010, losing 10 straight matches. The most recent defeat was a 7-0 defeat against No. 67 Akron.

After the home opener, the Panthers will be off for 11 days before playing another match at the Darling Courts against Tennessee Tech on March 21.
