BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. --
Jaymie Voorhees helped lead the Eastern Illinois women's golf squad to a sixth place finish at the two-round Bowling Green Falcon Invitational, held this past weekend.
The two-day meet marks the final tuneup prior to the end-of-season Ohio Valley Conference Championship to be held next weekend, was played at the par 72, 5,901 yard Stone Ridge Golf Course in Ohio.
Voorhees finished with a 14-over-par 158 (78-80) to tie for seventh place, out of 65 competitors, which marks the fourth consecutive Top 25 finish by the senior this spring season.
Out of the eleven teams competing, the Panther squad finished with a combined 662, which placed just behind the host squad in fifth while Toledo won the team trophy.
Other EIU competitors included senior
Katie Imburgia and freshman Emily Calhoun, as each tied for 26th place with a 167 stroke total.
Rounding out the Panther competitors were
Veronica Bernier and
Lauren Williams at 40th and 52nd place ties, respectively, while
Kathryn Koester played the course independently.
Eastern will now have a few days to prepare for the end-of-season Ohio Valley Conference Championship, to be played on April 21-24 at the Grey Stone Golf Course in Dickson, Tennessee.
