2009: OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll... Strang played in 22 games and started five times, all at shortstop… also saw a lot of action as a defensive replacement late in games… committed only error in 40 defensive chances and helped EIU turn six double plays… walked more than he struck out in his 40 plate appearances… will carry a seven-game hitting streak into the 2010 season… was 2-for-2 with the bases loaded and 6-for-12 with runners in scoring position… also was 2-for-2 as a pinch hitter… reached safely to begin an inning in four of his six opportunities… registered a career-high five hits in the home victory against Chicago State… went 10-for-16 with seven runs scored at home… collected five RBIs in only 12 at-bats in neutral-site games… went 6-for-9 and also walked twice during the 13-game win streak… hit his first homer at EIU and scored three times in the victory against Blackburn College… delivered a two-run single in the ninth inning of the OVC Tournament loss to Jacksonville State… registered a two-run double against Milwaukee… knocked in an insurance run with an eighth-inning single in the victory against Indiana… singled and scored to open the four-run eighth inning against Missouri.
2008: OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll... Strang played in 37 games and started 27 times, primarily at shortstop… was a starter for the entire month of April… responded with a 8-for-17 showing at the plate after becoming a starter… collected four of his seven RBIs in OVC play… collected nine of his 22 hits and five of his seven RBIs with two outs… walked more than he struck out at home… committed just one error in 50 defensive chances in true road games… was part of three of the EIU record five double plays the Panthers turned in the finale of the UT Martin series… hit safely in all three games of the UTM series, highlighted by a three-hit effort in the finale… put EIU ahead to stay with a two-out, two-run single in the opener of the UTM series… registered a pair of hits, scored a run and collected an RBI during the seven-run third inning in the rubber-game win at Murray State.
HIGH SCHOOL: He was a three-year letter-winner for coach John Staab… also lettered four times in golf and twice in basektball... CCHS Male Athlete of the Year as a senior… as an upperclassman was a two-time All-Big 12 Conference and Champaign News-Gazette All-Area selection… helped lead CCHS to consecutive Big 12 Conference titles in baseball and a 2006 conference crown in basketball… earned a scholar-athlete award and academic letter… also played for the American Legion Post 24 team in the summer.
