CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois baseball’s annual alumni weekend is set for Sept. 20-21 at Meadowview Golf Course and Coaches Stadium, head coach Jim Schmitz has announced.

The Alumni Golf Classic will again be held at Meadowview GC in Mattoon, with the shotgun start slated for 1 p.m. Saturday. A post-round dinner at the course will be followed by a social at Marty’s in Charleston.

“The goal for this year’s golf outing is 50 Hole Sponsors,” Schmitz said. “Last year we had 30 Hole Sponsors. This is one of the main ways alumni and friends of EIU Baseball can support the program. Even if you cannot attend the event you can still be a contributor to the success of the event. The proceeds from this year’s event are going to purchase a new sound system for the baseball stadium.”

Sunday’s events at Coaches Stadium include the alumni home run derby at noon followed by the 2009 team taking on the alums at 12:30 p.m.

To sign up for the alumni weekend events, complete page two of the attached PDF (see link at the top of the page) and mail or fax it to the EIU baseball office.
