Eastern Illinois University is a NCAA Division I institution located in Charleston, Illinois. The school holds membership in the Ohio Valley Conference for 17 of its 21 intercollegiate sports with football playing at the NCAA FCS level.
Men's soccer is an associate member of the Missouri Valley Conference while the men's and women's swimming teams compete as associate members in The Summit League (formerly Mid-Continent Conference). The EIU rugby team competes as an NCAA Division I independent and is still under NCAA Division I rules.

CURRENT OPENINGS:
Assistant Athletic Trainer - Applications are being requested for an assistant athletic trainer at Eastern Illinois University. This is a full-time, 12-month position to assist the head athletic trainer in developing, coordinating, and administering a comprehensive athletic training program including complete health care for all student-athletes in 21 Division 1 sports (FCS football). Requirements included, but not limited to, team coverage and daily operation of athletic training facilities. Primary sport responsibilities include men's basketball and men's soccer. The person in this position serves as ACI for students in an accredited undergraduate program and teaching responsibilities are available in this program. Evening and weekend work and travel with assigned teams is required as necessary. Additional duties as assigned by head athletic trainer and athletic administration.

Qualifications include the following: a master's degree; NATABOC certification and eligible for Illinois athletic training license are required. Experience at collegiate level with both men's and women's sports are preferred. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are needed.
