Recent Eastern Illinois graduate Michelle Anderson was in contention for her second Springfield City Women's Golf title over the weekend but a bad break on No. 18 landed Anderson in second place for the second straight year.

Anderson, who was named the EIU Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2009, had previously won the tournament in 2007 after finishing her sophomore season for the Panthers.  

During her senior year at Eastern Illinois, the Rochester native, appeared in nine tournaments posting Top 10 finishes at both the Western Illinois Westerwind Classic and Loyola Invitational.
