CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois women's golf will get a jump start to the fall season, competing at the Western Illinois Autumn Invitational this weekend. Practice play begins Saturday, followed by official rounds of golf on Sunday and Monday.
Leading the Panthers this season will be seniors
Katie Imburgia and
Jaymie Voorhees. With juniors
Veronica Bernier,
Jenna Fox and
Sarah Magee also in the mix.
Newcomers include Emily Calhoun,
Kathryn Koester and
Lauren Williams.
In fall of 2008, the Panthers earned one first place finish, winning the Chicago State Invite, while capturing runner-up trophies at last season's WIU Westerwind Classic, and Butler and Dayton Invites, respectively.

Next up for the Panthers is a three-day invite at Chicago State, starting Sun., Sept. 20 and running thru Tues., Sept 22, with action being held across the state line in Hammond, Indiana.
