CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois softball opens its 2009 fall season Saturday (Sept. 19) with a 4 p.m. doubleheader against Lake Land College at Williams Field.

The Panthers won both games in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh inning. Denee' Menzione plated Jen Saucier with a sacrifice fly in game one, making EIU a 5-4 winner. Melinda Jackson connected for a two-run homer to win game two, 6-4.
