CHARLESTON, Ill.—The public is invited to attend several events as part of the February 26-27 activities celebrating 100 years of men's basketball at Eastern Illinois University. 

A 100th EIU Basketball Celebration banquet will be held at 1 pm Saturday, Feb. 27 in the Martin Luther King, Jr. University Union. The cost for the public is $20 per person, regardless of age, and includes a ticket to the Saturday night basketball game vs. Tennessee State which tips off at 6 pm. 

Season ticket holders can purchase a banquet ticket for $10 per person, regardless of age. 

Anyone interested should contact Assistant Athletic Director Dave Kidwell at dakidwell@eiu.edu or call 581-2824. Reservations/tickets are required for all events. The deadline to order banquet/game tickets is Friday, February 12. 

The banquet will honor the ten-man All-Century Team, recognize NAIB, NAIA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division I tournament teams from 1952, 1957, 1976, 1978, 1992 and 2001, and welcome all returning former players and coaches. A highlight video commemorating 100 years of Panther basketball will also be shown. 

A Friday night reception (February 26) in McAfee Gym will be held from 6:30-8:30. There is no charge.
