BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Eastern Illinois junior Darren Patterson won his third OVC Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week honor following a stellar weekend at the Iowa State Classic in Ames.

Patterson finished 8th in the 200m dash at 21.76, 8th in the 400m dash at 48.00 and helped the 4x400 relay team place 5th at 3:12.80, in a field that included ten nationally ranked teams. The 200m time ranks 7th in school history and second in the OVC this season. His 400m time is 4th in EIU history and the top time in the conference this year.

EIU returns to action this Friday evening when they host the EIU Friday Night Special in Lantz Fieldhouse.
