CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer concludes its spring season Saturday with an alumni game, welcoming back 19 former players for a 2 p.m. game against the current team at Lakeside Field.
Among the 19 returning alumni includes Tammy (Waltermire) Craig, who played for the first EIU women's soccer club team from 1979-81. The current intercollegiate program was founded in 1994 and played its first season in the fall of 1995.
Also returning to campus this weekend is the program's all-time leading goal scorer and former assistant coach, Beth (Liesen) Lagunas. Other All-Ohio Valley Conference honorees expected to play include: Kellie Floyd, Kathleen Hayes, Lee Ann Langsfeld, Ashley Slota and Trisha Walter.
A team BBQ is slated for immediately after the game at the Lakeside Pavilion for the current players and friends & family of the alumni.
