CHARLESTON, Ill. -- The Eastern Illinois women's golf squad hit the links one final time this weekend in preparation for the end-of-season Ohio Valley Conference meet next week.  The Panthers will battle ten other teams at the two-day Bowling Green State Falcon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.

EIU will join the host Falcons, Cleveland State, Detroit, Niagara, Northern Illinois, Ohio, SIU-Edwardsville, Toledo, Valparaiso, and Western Michigan at the Par 72, 5,983 yard Stone Ridge Golf Club just outside of Bowling Green, Ohio.

Practice rounds get underway today and follow with two rounds of 36-holes on Saturday and Sunday.

The Panthers most recently competed at the Bradley Invitational earlier this month, capturing a fifth place standing out of the ten teams competing.

Senior Jaymie Voorhees led all Panthers for the fourth time of the year at the Bradley Invite, with Lauren Williams, Veronica Bernier, Emily Calhoun, Katie Imburgia, and Kathryn Koester finishing not far behind.

This weekend will be the final tune-up for the annual OVC Championship, being held at the Grey Stone Golf Course in Dickson, Tenn. between April 21-24.  Last season, former EIU standout Carrie Riordan won the individual title, the first such honor by a Panther since joining the league, as the squad took home a fifth place trophy.
