OVC Cross Country Championship Page

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country will head to Richmond, Ky., this Saturday to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference cross country championships.  The men's race will start at 8:30 a.m. followed by the women's contest at 9:30 a.m.

Both the EIU men and women were picked to finish second in the OVC preseason cross country poll behind favorite Eastern Kentucky.

The EIU men are led by senior Bradley LaRocque who has been the Panthers top runner throughout the year.  LaRocque was a first team All-OVC selection last season as he placed 7th in the championship meet.  Senior Matt Feldhake and freshman Bryce Basting have come on strong in the latter part of the season.

The EIU women return several All-OVC runners from last year's meet with Olivia Klaus and Gabriela Duenas earning first team honors last year.  EIU had a total of five runners take home All-OVC honors last season as Brittany Arthur, Erika Ramos and Megan Gingerich all finished in the top 14.  EIU returns all of those runners this season.
