DEKALB, Ill. -
Bradley LaRocque and
Erika Ramos both posted top 50 individual performances on Saturday afternoon as the Panthers competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional hosted by Northern Illinois.
The EIU men placed 16th while the women placed 18th overall. Oklahoma State won the men's title while Iowa State won the women's title.
LaRocque placed 50th in the meet with a time of 32:40.23 to lead the EIU men while Ramos placed 49th in the meet with a time of 22:24.41 to lead the EIU women.
EIU had two other men's runners place in the top 100 as freshman
Bryce Basting was 68th at 33:08.13 and
Graham Morris was 97th at 33:52.49.
Danny Delaney,
Matt Feldhake,
Jordan Jones and
Ryan Ballard rounded out the EIU men's competitors at the 10K distance. Delaney was 114th at 34:13.55, Feldhake was 119th at 34:19.17, Jones was 122nd at 34:22.47 and Ballard was 149th at 35:20.69.
Senior
Caitlin Napoleoni turned in a top 75 performance in her final EIU collegiate meet placing 70th with a time of 22:41.93 on the 6K course.
Britney Whitehead was 108th with a time of 23:11.79. Gabriela Duenas,
Olivia Klaus and
Megan Gingerich were bunched together within 15 spots of each other with Duenas placing 130th, Klaus 133rd and Gingerich 145th. Duenas crossed in 23:31.92, Klaus finished at 23:34.93 and Gingerich was in at 23:51.81.
Emily Pedziwiatr rounded out the EIU runners with a 160th place finish in 24:18.99.
EIU's cross country season is now complete.
