CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois sophomore place kicker Cameron Berra was one of the players selected to the preseason watch list by the College Football Performance Awards this week. Berra took over place kicking duties early in the 2010 season and was an effective 8-of-11 on field goal attempts. His long field goal of the season was 43 yards at Tennessee Tech. Berra was 19-of-20 on extra point attempts as he finished the season making 18-straight PAT's. His 43 points on the year led Eastern Illinois while ranking eighth among kickers in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The purpose of the CFPA is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.

Berra becomes the second EIU player this year to earn a preseason honor from the CFPA. He joins Chris Wright who was named to the preseason wide receivers watch list.

Eastern Illinois opens the 2011 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 against Illinois State. It will make the 100th meeting in the long time in-state rivalry.
