CHARLESTON, Ill.  – The Panther women's basketball team will face Texas Tech in the Women's National Invitational Tournament on Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas. EIU is participating in the WNIT for the second time in three years.
 
The Panthers have a 22-8 overall record while Texas Tech, a member of the Big 12 Conference, has a 19-13 record. The winner of Thursday's contest will face the winner of the Tulane/Mississippi Valley State game being played in New Orleans on Thursday.
 
EIU is participating in a postseason tournament for the third consecutive year under head coach Brady Sallee. The Panthers participated in the WNIT in 2010 and the Women's Basketball Invitational a year ago.
