CHARLESTON, Ill. --
Eastern Illinois softball standouts Stephanie Maday and Bailey O'Dell have been tabbed to College Sports Madness Ohio Valley Softball All-Conference squads, following the Panther's fine 2012 campaign.

Sophomore Maday picked up the prestigious 'Pitcher of the Year' honor, while newcomer O'Dell earned 'Freshman of the Year' kudos.  Both were also recognized as All-OVC First Team selections as well.

Maday had an outstanding season in the circle going 17-15 overall behind 40 appearances, 32 starts, 20 complete games, and 231-innings of work, while leading the entire OVC in strikeouts, ERA, saves and shutouts.

Maday also earned a Top 10 rank in nearly every single-season statistical category in the EIU record books as her 216 total Ks finished as high as third this year.  Her career numbers also continued to climb as she now owns the fifth-best all-time Panther strikeout tally with 326.

O'Dell, meanwhile, led the Panthers off her .351 batting mark, while also owning team-high totals for hits, total bases and slug %.  Her 19 doubles not only led the league, but also ranked as one of the best in the nation.

For the year, O'Dell's 19 doubles tied for second-best in the EIU single-season record book, while her 96 total bases and 66 hits earned respective fourth and fifth place single-season ranks as well.

The duo each earned official Ohio Valley Conference post-season honors last week as Maday was named First Team All-OVC, while O'Dell was a Second Team and All-Newcomer Team honoree prior to Eastern competing at the end-of-season, six-team league championship as the No. 2 Seed.

Panthers finished the 2012 season at 28-25 overall and 18-10 in league play as Eastern followed their 2011 OVC championship with a runner-up finish in the conference standings this spring.
