NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois men's and women's tennis swept past Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon, as the Panther women won, 6-0, and the EIU men picked up a pair of victories, including a 6-0 OVC win following a 5-1 non-league match addition.
The ladies captured the doubles point before
Merritt Whitley,
Sephora Boulbahaiem,
Hannah Kimbrough,
Alex Curtis, and
Kristen Laird dominated singles action, as the Panthers only allowed TSU to win a combined two total games.
The guys also swept the singles play in the second contest, which stood as an official OVC contest with the Tigers. Prior to that sweep, the Panthers first earned a 5-1 non-conference win with the contest added late to the schedule as TSU was in need of an extra spring match.
This coming week, the Panther men and women will travel to SIU Edwardsville on Wednesday (April 3) before heading to Jacksonville State on Saturday (April 6). The men will also take on Tennessee Tech in a road match on Sunday.
