COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis dropped an Ohio Valley Conference road match at league-leader Tennessee Tech on Sunday by a 5-2 score.
The Panthers fall to 7-8 on the season and 2-5 in conference action.
EIU lost the all-important doubles point, but not until the final No. 3 bout was decided as the duo of
Robert Skolik and
Kevin Bauman earned a tough 8-7 win at the No. 2 spot.
Then in singles, Skolik picked up a three-set victory at No. 3, while Volodymyr Zverkovsky won a retired bout for the final Panther point.
The Panther men will now prepare for a couple of home weekend matches against Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State, respectively.
