NEW ORLEANS – Eastern Illinois men's cross country remained ranked 15th in the final USTFCCCA Midwest Regional released on Monday after the Panthers finished fourth at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships last weekend. EIU will compete in the Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 11 in Iowa City, Iowa.
At the Ohio Valley Conference meet EIU placed fourth behind Eastern Kentucky, Belmont and Morehead State. EKU is currently ranked seventh in the Southeast Region. Belmont is ranked 12th in the South Region. Senior
Paxson Menard finished seventh at the OVC Championships to earn first team All-OVC honors.
Riley McInerney was eighth earning second team All-OVC honors.
Oklahoma State was ranked first in the Midwest Region followed by Iowa State, Tulsa, Bradley and Minnesota in the top five. South Dakota State was sixth with Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma in the top ten. Wichita State was 11th followed by Saint Louis, Nebraska, Iowa and Eastern Illinois in the top 15.
