Men's Tennis Adds Logan Charbonneau

Head men's tennis coach Sam Kercheval announced the addition of Logan Charbonneau to the 2017-18 freshman class.

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Head men's tennis coach Sam Kercheval announced the addition of Logan Charbonneau to the Panthers 2017 roster. Charbonneau comes to EIU from New Albany High School in New Albany, Ind.17663

"I am very excited to have Logan joining our program," said Kercheval "I've really enjoyed getting to know him and his family throughout the recruiting process and know he is a great fit for our team culture and the direction we are trying to go with the program. He has been a leader for his teams and in his school and has excelled in all areas."

Charbonneau is a two sport athlete for New Albany, playing on both the men's tennis and baseball teams for the Bulldogs. He heads into his senior season after finishing his junior campaign with a 19-2 overall singles record. A two-time All-State Singles First-Team award winner, Charbonneau has a 45-16 career high school record.

During his junior and senior seasons he qualified for the IHSAA Individual State Finals, falling in the quarterfinals this past season.

"What I am most excited about with Logan is his competitive nature and how much he is really driven to get better," continued Kercheval. "Everyone I talked to said Logan is the hardest worker you will find and we look forward to having him as a Panther!"
