CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois head coach
Matt Bollant announced the addition of
Jordan Pyle to the women's basketball roster. Pyle, a native of Traralgon, Victoria, Austraila, will take her redshirt season this spring and play as a redshirt freshman for the 2018-19 season.
Pyle is a 5'11 guard/forward and becomes the fourth player on the Panthers roster from Australia. She played club basketball for the Latrobe City Energy. While with the Energy, Pyle averaged 7.3 points per game. She was the team's second leading rebounder as she grabbed 5.9 boards per game. Pyle also dished out 1.3 assists per game.
In addition Pyle played for her high school team where she earned the Citizenship Award and was named 1st Team All-Conference.
"I went to Australia this fall to find players for our program. I saw Jordan play and liked her right away," said Bollant. "She's a great kid. [She's] 5'11, can run and jump, can really shoot it, and is really skilled. She's got a chance to step in and help our program. I'm hoping we can make her into a forward because we have a lot of guards already. She's got the length to develop because she's long and she's athletic, but we have to see how much stronger she can get."
