2010: OVC All-Freshman Team… Rowe played in 42 games and started 36 times… started games in center field (16), right field (11), at second base (7) and designated hitter (2)… batted in a team-high six different spots in the lineup, all but two-three-four… hit safely in eight of the final nine games of the season in which he played to finish with the second highest batting average on the team… his 20 walks and .436 on-base percentage were also third on the team… batted .367 (18-for-49) in conference play… reached base safely 50 percent of the time when leading off an inning… batted .353 with runners in scoring position… recorded nine of his 17 RBIs with two outs in an inning… posted a nine-game hit streak in late March… threw out the potential game-tying run at the plate from center field to end the nightcap of the Austin Peay doubleheader… started the season hot, going 10-for-25 and reaching safely in 15 of his 30 plate appearances in February… also finished the season strong, going 11-for-18 and reaching safely in 16 of his 23 plate appearances in May… led the way with a .373 batting average and .489 on-base percentage in true road games… hit safely in all three games of the Southeastern Louisiana, Eastern Kentucky and UT Martin series… began his collegiate career with a four-hit game in the season opener at Southeastern Louisiana… also had four hits in the series opener at Jacksonville State… hit a solo homer in the middle game of the Belmont series… went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, two walks and four runs scored in the middle game of the UAB series, EIU’s first win of the season… delivered a two-run triple in the finale of the Eastern Kentucky series… was 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the middle game of the Morehead State series… went 5-for-6 with two walks and three runs scored in the Jacksonville State doubleheader.

HIGH SCHOOL: Rowe was a two-year letter-winner for coach Dave Haskins… also played freshman-sophomore basketball… batted .370 with 20 stolen bases as a senior… helped Prairie Ridge win the 2008 IHSA Class 4A state title… Prairie Ridge also won back-to-back Fox Valley Conference titles… four-year honor roll student… tri-lingual scholar… also played for the McHenry County Hurricanes summer team, which were ranked second in the state.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlights were winning a state title and hitting the first of his team’s three home runs in a 2009 regional game… his father and grandfather have been a major influence on his sports career because “they taught me the game of baseball and are the two people I admire the most… most admires Prairie Ridge freshman coach Glen Pecoraro, the former varsity head coach, because “he was a coach that any athlete would want to play for”… son of Ed Rowe and Kim Glasder… MAJOR: Sociology.
