Biography

2009:
Denver Invite and Indiana State Classic ‘All-Tournament’ teams... despite being hampered by a slight injury, which did not allow her to hit 100% to her full potential for a significant stretch of the season, Alex was still able to lead the squad in kills for the second straight season, nailing 369... played and started in all but one match on the year... set a new career-high kill total with 25 in the Panthers’ five-set heartbreaker to EKU to end the season on neutral territory, as the match was played down in Evansville after being rescheduled... recorded 15+ kills 10 times and 15 or more digs eight times... added to her impressive career double-double total with an additional team-high 17 such performances... which moves her career duo-duo cache to 39... nine times registered 15+ points in a match, upping her career tally to 27 all-time... nailed 20 service aces which was second best on the team... had a nice season at the net defensively as well, as she recorded a match and career-high seven assisted blocks as EIU downed SIUE on the road in four sets... she would actually more than double her previous season blocking totals with 56 overall, including 48 solo roofs... heading into her senior year, she has yet to commit a single ball-handling error, while having dished out 70 career assists... based on her career average kill and dig numbers, she should finish her career in both the 1,000+ Kill and Dig Clubs, as she needs just 321 more kills and 298 additional digs to place her name into the Panther record books... also may conceivably finish with the third best kill attempt mark, based on her current average of 944 attempts a season... OVC Top 10 Ranking: 4th/7th in kills (3.29/3.11 kps) and 5th/8th (3.76/3.51 pps) in regular-season/OVC matches, respectively... OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2008:
EIU Challenge ‘All-Tournament’ Team... earned Preseason All-OVC honors after which she would eventually lead the squad in kills behind 238 total put-aways... also finished second in digs with 233... notched six more career kill-dig double-doubles... her lethal service game also gave her a team-high 17 aces... connected on 23 kills in EIU’s home win over TSU... OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2007:
OVC ‘All-Newcomer Team’... SMU Invite and EIU Challenge All-Tourney squads... had a standout freshman season, setting two interesting school records... first off, playing alongside her older sister, Eliza, marked the first time in EIU school history that sisters have been members of the same volleyball squad... her 355 kill total, second-highest on the squad, established a new freshman mark... played in 27 matches and 101 games... tallied double-digit kills in 20 contests with 23 versus Loyola (Chicago)... recorded 16 kill-dig double-doubles, second most on the squad... ended the year with a career-high 24 digs in the’ season finale win over APSU... nailed six service aces in a five-game win at UIC... OVC Top 10 Ranking: 9th in kills (3.68 kpg) in league action... OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
