The Eastern Illinois Cheer Team serves as the cheer team for EIU athletics. The team performs at home athletic events, various events on campus, in Charleston and surrounding businesses and communities.

Women's Basketball
Chantelle Pressley from women's basketball and Sean Wiggan from men's indoor track have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Pressley helped the women's basketball team extend its current winning streak to nine games as she scored in double figures against both Austin Peay and Jacksonville State.  Pressley had a double-double in the win over APSU with 13 points, 10 rebounds.

Wiggan had a solid showing at the Indiana Relays as he placed first in the 600m and was 8th in the 800m invitational.  Wiggan's winning time of 1:19.70 in the 600m set the school record.  His time in the 800m was 1:51.93.
