Eastern Illinois baseball has competed on its current site since joining the NCAA Division I ranks. Recently the former Monier Field received a facelift and opened as Coaches Stadium at Monier Field for the 2002 season. It is one of the premier stadiums in the midwest with chairback seating for 500 fans with the ability to expand seating capacity in future years. Fans can also bring their own seating and watch a game from outside the first or third base foul lines. The new facility also includes brick dugouts, an underground sprinkler system, modern press box and concession stand. The outside of the stadium is surrounded by 14 red brick pillars each honoring a previous EIU head coach.
