CHARLESTON, Ill. – Prior to the senior recognition day ceremonies Saturday at Lantz Arena, a special radio show highlighting Eastern Illinois women's basketball's five seniors will air Saturday at noon on Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU radio.

 

“Building a Dream” is a 45-minute show profiling EIU's five seniors – Ellen Canale, Megan Edwards, Rachel Galligan, Lindsey Kluempers and Julie Lipperd – and their roles in the renaissance the program has enjoyed during their upperclassman seasons.

 

Fans can also listen online at weiuhitmix.net. The show will also be archived here at EIUpanthers.com.

 

WEIU radio and television color analyst John Twork produced and hosted the show. It features interviews with all five seniors and head coach Brady Sallee, as well as play-by-play highlights of the seniors in action this season.

 

“Building a Dream” will precede the pregame show for the EIU men's basketball game at Western Michigan, which is slated for a 1 p.m. (CST) tipoff in Kalamazoo.

 

The Panther women then host Murray State at 3 p.m. on WEIU radio and TV. Radio coverage will join the women's broadcast in progress as soon as the men's game goes final.

 

“'Building a Dream' offers insight into how the seniors ended up at EIU, what their most memorable moments have been so far, what they plan to do after graduation, and much more,” Twork said.

Eastern (19-7, 12-2 OVC) entered the week riding a 19-game home win streak and in search of its first 20-win season since the 1987-88 campaign. The Panthers host UT Martin Thursday night at 7 p.m.
